Method :
- Heat the oven to 180oC (350oF),
Gas 4.
- Grease a 575 ml baking dish and dredge
with bread crumbs.
- Arrange a layer of apples in the dish
and sprinkle with all the dates and some of the bread crumbs.
- Continue making layers of apples and
crumbs, finishing with bread crumbs.
- Gently heat the honey, water, lemon
rind and juice; cloves and margarine in small pan until well blended,
then pour over the pudding.
- Pat down well with the back of spoon.
- Bake for 11/4
- 11/2
hours, or until the top is crisp and golden down.
- Serve hot.
